The Curriculum Transfer Initiative is a system-level priority of the UW System’s 2020FWD Framework.

“UW System will expand the Transfer Information System (TIS) to increase both the number of articulation agreements and the number of participating higher education entities. The transfer process should be seamless, smooth, and easily navigable for all students at any step of their education journey.”

Information on the Curriculum Transfer Initiative

In June 2019, a UW System convening was held to explore the feasibility of select transfer models for possible adoption by the UW System. UW universities presented overviews of transfer at each of their universities. Participants collaboratively engaged in focused discussions and model reviews regarding transfer. SYS 115 Associate Degree Standards and SYS 135 UW System Undergraduate Transfer Policy were also reviewed.

In the summer of 2019, each UW university formed a workgroup of four to work on the Initiative through Spring 2021. The objective of the work is to collaboratively address the Ten Guiding Themes.

In September 2019, a joint UW System (UWS) and Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) convening took place with 50 persons from UWS and 39 from the WTCS participating. An outcome of the meeting was the formation of workgroups on UW System Transfer Policy and enhancing WTCS-UWS Transfer.
