This is largely a matter of convenience.<\/p>\n<p><em>Example: <\/em>UWSA employee Intranet.<\/p>\n<p>Use Universities of Wisconsin associated with divisions and offices.<\/p>\n<p><em>Example: <\/em>Universities of Wisconsin Office of the President<\/p>\n<h3>Legal Name: University of Wisconsin System<\/h3>\n<p>Our legal name remains \u201cUniversity of Wisconsin System.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Avoid using \u201cUniversity of Wisconsin System\u201d or \u201cUW System\u201d except where legally required by statute, rule, or policy.<\/p>\n<p>Circumstances in which the University of Wisconsin System should continue to be used include local, state, and federal court and administrative hearing filings and communications, all real estate documents, all contracts (including federal and state grants), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), legal signature or other relevant delegations of authority, and formal correspondence with state and federal regulatory bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Official documents such as diplomas will continue to use the official University of Wisconsin System name.<\/p>\n<h3>Legal Name: Board of Regents<\/h3>\n<p>The legal name of the Board of Regents is the \u201cUniversity of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meeting agendas will acknowledge both names.
