Feinberg\u2019s lecture, \u201cBringing Imagined Worlds to Life,\u201d is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. The event will take place<strong> from 10 a.m.-12 noon on Tuesday, April 12<\/strong> <strong>on Bo Ryan Court inside Williams Fieldhouse.<\/strong> <strong>The event will be live streamed.<\/strong> F<strong>or more information, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwplatt.edu\/events\/2022\/04\/2022-distinguished-lecturer-danielle-feinberg\">www.uwplatt.edu\/events\/2022\/04\/2022-distinguished-lecturer-danielle-feinberg<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>About Feinberg<\/h3>\n<p>Feinberg graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science. She began her career at Pixar in 1997. Her first position was on the movie \u201cA Bug\u2019s Life\u201d as a render wrangler. From this entry-level position, she soon advanced to lead the otherwise all-male department.<\/p>\n<p>Feinberg went on to work on lighting for many Pixar films, including \u201cToy Story 2,\u201d \u201cMonsters Inc.,\u201d the Oscar-winning \u201cFinding Nemo\u201d and \u201cThe Incredibles.\u201d \u201cWall-E,\u201d another Oscar-winner, was Feinberg\u2019s first movie in her role as director of photography for lighting. She also oversaw the lighting on two more Oscar-winning films \u2013 \u201cBrave\u201d and \u201cCoco.\u201d She is currently working on Pixar\u2019s 2022 release \u201cTurning Red\u201d as visual effects supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>Feinberg regularly gives talks to encourage girls of all ages to pursue code, math and science. In 2016, she presented a TED Talk that was part of the PBS \u201cScience and Wonder\u201d presentation for TED Talks Live. It was named one of the top TED Talks of 2016.<\/p>\n<h3>About the series<\/h3>\n<p>UW-Platteville\u2019s Distinguished Lecturer series brings a speaker to campus every spring.
