Thermodata, an international corporation with clients on every continent, has moved its world headquarters to the Innovation Center at Whitewater University Technology Park.<\/p>\n

The company develops and markets temperature-monitoring systems for a wide range of industries, including health care, food service, scientific research and public health.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased to welcome Thermodata to the Innovation Center and to a growing community of technology companies in the area,\u201d said Richard Telfer, UW-Whitewater chancellor. \u201cWith only one unoccupied suite left, it is clear that entrepreneurs see the Innovation Center as an ideal place to start and grow their businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2001, Thermodata opened an office in Boston in 2010, and relocated to Wisconsin in April.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to move to the Midwest and specifically Whitewater,\u201d said Jenny Samfat, co-owner of Thermodata. \u201cThe work ethic of the people here reminds us of home, where people love to tinker, to make things. We are looking forward to collaborating with other tenants on research and development.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Keith, founder and co-owner of Thermodata, called the Innovation Center a strategic location.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are now in the heart of the country \u2013 and we\u2019ll be able to get the supplies and equipment we need in the quantities we need,\u201d he said. \u201cWe share other tenants\u2019 desire to use the most up-to-date technology to serve our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thermodata has designed and implemented a diverse array of monitoring systems around the world.<\/p>\n

A university scientist used a Thermodata system to help revive a species of tree in Scotland. In New Mexico, clients used the technology to prevent damage to prairie chicken eggs. A client in Australia measured the effects of climate change on turtles. Entomologists, homicide detectives, and water companies have all used Thermodata products.<\/p>\n

As part of the five-year lease, the company will occupy two laboratories on the main floor of the Innovation Center, totaling 1,300 square feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m thrilled to have Thermodata relocate to the Innovation Center in the Whitewater University Technology Park,\u201d said Jeffery Knight, chairperson of the Whitewater Community Development Authority. \u201cRobert Keith and Jenny Samfat bring a wonderful addition to our Innovation Center and community. They already are collaborating with other tenants of the park and should prove to be a key asset as we continue to grow new industries and create\u00a0jobs in the Whitewater area.\u201d<\/p>\n
