Two students, Jacob Link and Dylan Przybylski, have been selected as the first WBA student ambassadors.

To WBA leadership, the partnership with UWO represents both a celebration of the university’s media legacy and an investment in the state’s broadcast future.

“I’m tremendously proud of this special collaboration that will serve a great need in our industry and for our members,” said Michelle Vetterkind, WBA president and CEO. “We are most grateful to those involved in piloting this effort that we’re confident will grow from here.”

The WBA’s decision to partner with UW-Oshkosh underscores the professional reputation the RTF program has built through decades of excellence in hands-on media education. Students gain real-world experience producing and directing programs for Titan TV, working on-air and behind the scenes at 90.3 WRST-FM and participating in internships with broadcasters across Wisconsin and beyond.

Link, a senior from Madison double-majoring in multimedia journalism and radio TV film, is one of two UW-Oshkosh students chosen to serve as WBA ambassadors. He leads The Advance-Titan, the University’s student-run newspaper as editor-in-chief and works as operations director for WRST-FM, while also contributing to Titan TV as a reporter and anchor.

Jacob Link, right, with fellow radio TV film student Dylan Eckhart, traveled to the UWO
women’s basketball Final Four game in Salem, Virginia, in March 2025 to broadcast the
game live on WRST.

“As a WBA ambassador, my goal is to get as many students as possible involved with not only WBA projects and events but also involved in the radio TV film program in some capacity,” Link said. “That goes for people majoring in RTF and those who are not. If we can get more students airtime, it unlocks so many more possibilities for them to find jobs in the broadcasting world and helps build the credibility that UWO’s program is one of the best in the state.”

Fellow ambassador Przybylski, of Oconto Falls, brings a wealth of technical and production experience to the role. A senior RTF major, he spent two years as Titan TV’s sports director and is currently the executive producer and host of a show he created called Track Attack. Przybylski works as an audio-visual technician at Reeve Memorial Union on campus and is also employed by TundraVision for the Green Bay Packers, where he has been trained on numerous types of broadcast equipment including camera shading, video rollback and live editing for RedZone updates.

Przybylski said he hopes to use his position to help fellow students discover the range of professional development opportunities that WBA offers.

“I’ve been attending WBA events since I was a freshman and want to bring more awareness to students about the scholarships, forums and professional opportunities they can attend,” he said.

For Wendall Ray, RTF instructor and general manager of WRST-FM, the partnership is a fitting acknowledgment of the program’s long history of preparing students for professional success.

“We’re happy the WBA is piloting this program at UWO,” Ray said. “There are many colleges and universities in Wisconsin that could have been selected.
