We serve not only new, incoming students but also current Yellowjackets,” said Janie Campbell, UW-Superior registrar.

Located on campus in Old Main, Suite 137, the Transfer Center was developed from a campus initiative to make UW-Superior more transfer friendly.

“This is a location where students, at any level of their UW-Superior standing, have a place to go, to learn, to ask questions and get answers that pertain to them,” said Campbell.

The Transfer Center includes both a transfer coordinator who will work with all transfer of credits, and a transfer advisor to help guide students with their program plan and degree completion.

“A student can explore transfer options to help with degree completion,” said Campbell. “Some students return home for the holidays or summer and choose to enroll in a course while home. The transfer coordinator can look at the courses the student is considering and determine how they will transfer back to UWS and help with degree completion.”

Having two staff available in the Transfer Center will further aid students.

“Students can work with the transfer coordinator and transfer advisor to gain more knowledge with the Transferology tool to determine course equivalencies,” said Campbell. “The transfer coordinator is available to answer any questions related to transfer credits and the transfer advisor is available to work with students on their program plan and requirements once transfer evaluations are complete.”

The transfer coordinator can work with a student to determine the best process to help with degree completion and what courses would need to be completed at UW-Superior to meet final requirements at a previous two-year institution to attain an associate art (AA) or associate in science (AS) degree, which will transfer back to meet requirements.

“I enjoy working with transfer students and hope the Transfer Center can offer students a place to ask questions, feel supported and make the transition to UW-Superior a great experience,” said Anne Carlson, Transfer Center Coordinator.

Students can work with the transfer advisor on a program plan to see how their current credits meet requirements for degree completion. Both positions can assist students who are looking to take a course outside of UW-Superior.

“I am excited to be the Transfer Center advisor as I enjoy helping students with the transfer process and making it a positive experience,” said Beth Christopherson, UW-Superior Transfer Center Advisor.

We are excited to have a Transfer Center on the UW-Superior campus available to meet transfer students where they are at.
