UW-Eau Claire chancellor to lead Westminster College
MADISON, Wis. -- University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich today announced that he has accepted a new position as president of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He plans to take office there in June 2012.
“Chancellor Levin-Stankevich has been a strong leader for UW-Eau Claire, helping the institution develop a clear strategic vision for its academic offerings, its facilities, and its resource needs. He worked closely with faculty, staff, and students to advance many key initiatives including the Blugold Commitment, which supports collaborative undergraduate research, international experiences, and student internships, while also providing financial aid to students with need. Brian also led the successful completion of a major fundraising campaign that netted more than $50 million in private gifts to support UW-Eau Claire’s vital mission,” said UW System President Kevin P. Reilly
“I know well Brian’s unwavering commitment to the high quality liberal arts-based education that UW-Eau Claire provides. His fellow Chancellors and I will miss him. We wish him and his wife, Debi, well in Salt Lake City,” said Reilly.
In accordance with Board policy, Reilly will consult with Board of Regents President Michael J. Spector and Regent Vice President Brent Smith about appointing an interim chancellor. Later, the UW System will begin planning for a national search that will help identify Levin-Stankevich’s permanent successor.
