What Is Meant By Years of Service?

Your Benefits Office can provide your years of service to the UW and the State. Simply stated, “years of service” means the total years in the employment of the UW or the State, in an appointment that is eligible for sick leave. Years of service are not reduced for less than full-time appointments. In other words, 20 years of service in a 50 percent appointment equals 20 years of service for the sick leave credit program.
