How Do I Estimate My Sick Leave Credit?

Example: Let’s assume you have a 9 month.*
academic year contract and a salary of
    $54,000. You have accumulated 1900
hours of sick leave over your 25 year
    career at the University.
    1. Divide your contract salary by 9.
    $54,000 / 9 = $6,000
    2. Divide the result by 174.
    $6,000 / 174 = $34.48/hour
    3. Multiply by sick leave credits.
    $34.48 x 1900 = $65,512
Note: If you have 15 or more years of UW or State service you may also receive additional credits under the Supplemental Sick Leave Credit Program.

    * Individual on 12 month contracts divide by 12 on step 1
