Indexed annually, your 2012 Social Security withholding is 4.2% of your wages up to $110,100. The University will continue to pay 6.2% of your wages up to $110,100. The lower employee rate will have no effect on workers' future Social Security benefits. Your Medicare withholding is 1.45% of your wages, without limit, and the University matches the 1.45%.
