Edit and Budget Check a Purchase Order Interactively
Once a purchase order is created, the next two steps are to edit it
for valid chartfield combinations and put it through budget checking. If
your campus uses budget control, then the budget checking process will
verify that enough dollars are available to process the request. If your
campus does not use budget control, this step is still necessary before
the encumbrance can be posted to the General Ledger.

Activity: Edit and Budget Check a Purchase Order
Interactively
Navigation: Go, Administer Procurement, Manage Purchase
Orders, Use Purchase Order, Header, Update/Display.
- Select the purchase order that you created in the previous exercise
- Click on the Edit Button on the top right area of the panel (look for the button with the blue check mark)
- To refresh, click on Sparky, the dog.
- If the edit comes back with errors, correct them and run the edit again.
- Once the purchase order has been edited successfully, budget check it by clicking on the button just to the right of the edit button and to the left of Sparky
- Note that when both of these processes are complete, the BCM status should be changed to "Valid".
