A top UW-Eau Claire official appears to be heading to Texas AandM University-Kingsville as its president. Steven Tallant, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at UW-Eau Claire since 2007, is the sole finalist for the president's job.

"Union sues UW-Platteville over retention fund plan," Associated Press, Aug. 1.

A faculty union is suing the University of Wisconsin-Platteville over the way its chancellor wants to award merit pay increases...

"UW-L sees challenging time for retaining, recruiting faculty," La Crosse Tribune, Aug. 2.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, like other schools in the UW-System, has trouble recruiting and retaining faculty because its salaries have not kept pace with comparable institutions across the nation...

"University Research Park to add E. Washington Ave. site," Wisconsin State Journal, Aug. 3.

The University Research Park, a 260-acre suburban oasis for start-ups on Madison's West Side, will be trying to attract young student and faculty entrepreneurs with an edgy new urban incubator in an abandoned industrial building on the near East Side. The 6,000-square-foot incubator in the former Marquip Inc. offices and factory building at 1245 E. Washington Ave. will offer 10 suites to high-tech entrepreneurs in a Downtown setting, UW-Madison Chancellor John Wiley said...
