The Board of Regents is expected to approve a 5.5 percent tuition increase at four-year UW campuses for the upcoming academic year; the adjustment would mirror the modest increase approved last year.

Many students turn to MATC's Liberal Arts Transfer Program to transfer to UW-Madison.

An editorial addressing Sen. Russ Decker's recent guest column explaining why a proposal by UW-La Crosse to reallocate funds to be used for financial aid was blocked.

"Milky Way loses two (major) arms," USA Today, June 3.

Robert Benjamin, astronomer at UW-Whitewater, will present research at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society that suggests the Milky Way has just two major arms.

"UW Med School disputes grade in national report," Capital Times, June 4.

The UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is asking for a revision of the American Medical Student Association review that recently awarded the school a D in the report.

"Public-private partnerships can build technology economy," Wisconsin Technology Network, May 27.

Several public-private partnerships are helping Wisconsin compete in the technology-based "knowledge" economy.

"WCTC's non-faculty form separate union," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, June 3.

Non-faculty employees of Waukesha County Technical College have formed their own union after the teachers union moved to include them; the new union has eight members, including human resources employees and researchers for the college administration.
