"Former Mich. dean among 4 finalists for top UW-Madison job," Associated Press, May 7.

Four finalists were named yesterday for the position of UW-Madison chancellor; the candidates include the provost of Cornell University, a vice president for research at University of Minnesota, the former dean at the Gerald Ford School of Public Policy, and the dean of UW-Madison's College of Letters and Sciences.

T.J. Bryan, professor of English language and literature at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, participated in an open forum as a candidate for UW-Parkside's chancellor position.

Celestino Limas participated in an open forum for the position to be vice chancellor of student affairs and dean of students for UW-Eau Claire.

"UW-Madison investigates possible fraternity hazing incident," Channel3000.com, May 8.

The Madison chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is being investigated for an alleged hazing incident.

"High school students Upward Bound to UW-Stout," Dunn County News, May 7.

A group of ninth and 10th graders will participate in UW-Stout's six-week Upward Bound program that is aimed at increasing the students' state test scores and overall grades.

"College of Business initiative creates globalized curriculum," Eau Claire Spectator.

UW-Eau Claire's College of Business is offering a Partnership in International Education program that is aimed at globalizing the school's curriculum; it includes faculty exchange programs and international internships for students.

"Southwest Tech closed after threat, students misled," A ssociated Press, May 8.

Southwestern Wisconsin Technical College officials initially told students the closing was because of maintenance.
