"Report: Faculty flight a crisis situation at UW-Madison," Wisconsin State Journal, May 5.

UW-Madison's Commission on Faculty Compensation and Economic Benefits revealed yesterday that the number of faculty leaving the campus has worsened in the past two years; the school lost 65 faculty to outside offers between 2004 and 2006.

"Parkside candidate eyes diverse enrollment as goal for university," Kenosha News, May 6.

Robert Felner, UW-Parkside chancellor candidate, participated in an open forum where he discussed a number of issues including increasing minority enrollment and expanding the school's role in the community.

"Regents close to naming UW chancellor finalists," Daily Cardinal, May 6.

Chair of the UW-Madison chancellor search and screen committee, Marsha Mailick Seltzer, says that finalists for the position will be announced this Wednesday.

"Workers: UW escort program turned away students after murder," Associated Press, May 5.

A number of employees for UW-Madison's SAFEWalk program recently quit in protest because of alleged mismanagement; their departure has left the program short-handed.

"La Crosse starting new alcohol counseling program," Badger Herald, May 6.

UW-La Crosse will begin the counseling program "Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students" this fall to assist students who would like help in addressing their drinking problems.

"Designer finds place with sitter and skaters," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, May 3.

Ryan Muraro, a student at UW-Stout, has designed two speed skating suits for skaters from Great Britain and Ukraine for the next winter Olympics.
