On Campus

"2 UW projects OK'd by state," Wisconsin State Journal, March 19.

A state commission approved a coffee shop at UW-Madison's Memorial Union and a holding facility for rodents at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.

"UW-Stout only Wisconsin college in nationwide study," Rivertowns.net, March 20.

Students at UW-Stout will participate in a study by the U.S. Department of Education to assess student learning in college.

National

"Data security top tech issue for colleges," USA Today, March 20.

In a recent survey, security and privacy are the No. 1 technology worry for colleges as the institutions attempt to limit data security incidents.

"New data predict major shifts in student population, requiring colleges to change strategies," Chronicle of Higher Education, March 20.

A study released by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education reveals that the number of high school graduates nationwide will slowly decline from this year's graduation until 2015; during the same time, minority student graduates are expected to grow quickly.

Congress is working to continue the federal student loan system as lenders leave or suspend their lending operations.
