On Campus

"Appeals court upholds demotion of UW-Parkside professor," Associated Press, March 5.

A decision by the UW System Board of Regents in 2006 to demote Xun Wang and cut his pay was upheld by an appeals court.

"Student Senate passes mascot resolution," Eau Claire Spectator, March 6.

A resolution was passed by UW-Eau Claire's Student Senate recommending that that the school's chancellor form a group to research the need for a mascot; UW-Eau Claire is the only UW institution without a mascot.

"Administration may slash the dash," Oshkosh Advance-Titan, March 6.

UW-Oshkosh administration is considering replacing their current eight-point grading scale with a twelve-point scale for better accuracy.

State

"We're as good as Minnesota, except in pay," Wausau Daily Herald, March 6.

The state's legislature will meet next week to repair the state's budget shortfall.
