"UW to look at tuition policies," Badger Herald, March 3.

The Board of Regents will review several tuition models at the upcoming meeting, focusing on the big picture, not specific actions; the Regents will also discuss strategies for increasing financial aid.

"Proposal would help UW-B/SC offer adults 4-year degrees," Associated Press, March 3.

UW-Baraboo/Sauk County is ready for a new program proposed by the UW System that would encourage them to offer local adults the opportunity to earn four-year degrees.

The UW System has invited the public to comment on recent proposed changes to its student conduct code; once the initial recommendations are approved by the Regents in April, state rules call for them to be sent to the state Legislative Council for further review, followed by a university-sponsored public hearing.

On Campus

UW-Madison will add text messaging to the emergency response program WiscAlerts.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County is considering campus housing options, but there is no indication of a time line for implementation.

UW-Madison Faculty Senate will propose a fundraising drive to raise money for need-based scholarships; the UW Foundation has said it will match donations.

"UW-La Crosse awaits OK to use funds for student aid," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Feb. 29.

A proposed bill would allow UW-La Crosse to reallocate funds to pay for financial aid rather than paying for new faculty and staff.

State

"State Senate feeds funding for expansion of Veterinary School," Badger Herald, March 3.

The Senate voted to allow a TomoTherapy addition to UW-Madison's Veterinary School; the addition will not have any cost to the state.

"Groups plot state's path to a sounder economy," Column, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, March 1.
