Instructors at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo, and Western Technical College are utilizing technology such as pod casts and virtual simulations as alternatives to basic classroom instruction.

The EPA says the original 2007 agreement does not ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act.

"UW leaps ahead in '07 'best-value' public colleges ranking," Daily Cardinal, Jan. 18.

UW-Madison ranked 19th for in-state students and 23rd for out-of-state students on Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's list of the 100 best-value public colleges; in 2007 the school was ranked 25th for in-state students and 41st for out-of-state students.

Scientists in California say they have created embryos that are clones of two men by using the men's skin cells.
