"Presidential pay is increasing fastest at the largest institutions," Chronicle of Higher Education, Nov. 13.

A survey by the Chronicle shows that recruiting executive leadership for top-ranked universities is a competitive business and compensation packages are rising accordingly; the article mentions that UW-Madison's pay for its chancellor, which is below average, is among the notable exceptions.
