State Budget

"Budget's better late than never," Editorial, Baraboo News Republic, Oct. 28.

A finalized state budget brought compromise and averted severe measures like cutbacks in classes or increased property taxes.

UW-Madison's School of Business received the largest single gift ever given to the campus from a small group of alumni: the $85 million gift also prohibits the school from being named for any donor or entity for 20 years.

UW-Stevens Point students gain the opportunity to work with a New York-based dance company through special residency program.

"UW-Madison, tribal school hit deal," Wisconsin State Journal, Oct. 27.

UW-Madison will sign a contract with the College of Menominee Nation designed to encourage transfer to Madison for American Indian students; this contract is similar to the transfer arrangement UW-Madison has with UW Colleges and the Wisconsin Area Technical College System.
