State Budget

"From standoff to a deal," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Oct. 21.

After four intense days of negotiation, the state legislature delivered a deal for the state budget.

Gov. Doyle and the state legislature came together to produce a state budget despite deep partisan differences; elected officials deserve praise for their work but some state needs continue to go unmet.

A recent study showing higher rates of unemployment in Racine County highlights the integral part education institutions play in a healthy economy.

On Campus
