The UW System Board of Regents meets in UW-River Falls today and Friday to discuss next steps with the university budget still undecided; Regents have been stressing the importance of a fully funded university to keep tuition low, retain quality faculty, and meet the state's economic needs.

Researchers at UW-Madison have discovered a new explanation for why cancerous tumors often regrow -- the presence of cancer stem cells.

"Dean didn't face discrimination, state study finds," Associated Press, Oct. 3.

A state investigation concluded that UW-Whitewater officials did not discriminate against a black dean who was fired for unauthorized spending using university credit cards.
