The Wisconsin Alumni Association has launched a campaign that urges alumni to encourage their elected representatives to support UW-Madison in the ongoing budget negotiations.

Gov. Jim Doyle talked to Madison students at the beginning of the school year about the Wisconsin Covenant, a program that guarantees a place in a Wisconsin college or university for students who fulfill certain academic and non-academic criteria; funding for the Covenant program was included in the Governor's version of the budget but removed from the Assembly version.
