A new program at UW-Madison provides resources to parents who want assistance with their children's transition to college.

UW-River Falls is the first Wisconsin campus to receive a federal grant to help create a natural disaster plan.

State

Wisconsin saw both a higher participation rate and a higher average score in this year's state ACT results; the percentage of minority students taking the test still lags the percentage of minority students in Wisconsin's public schools, which is spurring an effort to have more students from Milwaukee take the test. Milwaukee has the highest population of minority students in the state.
