The Department of Energy has will announce today its selection of UW-Madison to receive a $125 million grant to house the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center, which will investigate new and innovative ways to produce fuel.

"UW-Rock, radio station to give lucky winner a brain boost," Janesville Gazette, June 25.

UW-Rock County is teaming with a Janesville radio station to provide a contest winner with a semester's tuition at the college.

Thanks to the Worldwide Universities Program, UW-Madison graduate students have been able to conduct their research on an international basis, and the campus itself has been able to support the research of graduate students from around the world.

"Accelerated Learning Program debuts in fall at UWFV," Appleton Post Crescent, June 25.

UW-Fox Valley's Accelerated Learning Program, which will begin this fall, provides working adults with the opportunity to earn associate and bachelors degrees by providing educational resources that can be utilized at the students' convenience.

Six students at the Federal Corrections Institute in Oxford received their Associate of Arts and Science degrees from UW-Baraboo/Sauk County; the college has provided student-inmates with access to post-secondary education since 1974. Full story not available online.

"Reciprocity is a good deal for students in both states," Editorial, La Crosse Tribune, June 26.

An editorial applauding the efforts of leaders from Wisconsin and Minnesota to reach a consensus that allows the states' tuition reciprocity agreement to continue.
