A former state representative remembers the late UW-Green Bay Chancellor Edward Weidner's commitment to educational excellence, and proposes the campus establish a chair of public policy and community spirit in his name; Weidner, UW-Green Bay's founding chancellor, passed away recently.

"Senate reauthorization bill would increase Pell Grants, federal oversight," Chronicle of Higher Education, June 19.

A proposed Senate higher education bill would would raise the authorized level for the maximum Pell Grant to $6,300 over three years and increase federal oversight on college tuition-setting and credit-transfer policies.
