UW-Whitewater Chancellor Martha Saunders, who was recently named the preferred candidate to assume the presidency at the University of Southern Mississippi, visited the Mississippi campus today.

Increasing competition among applicants to the nation's top colleges and universities means a stellar academic record may no longer be solely sufficient for guaranteed acceptance, and more institutions are looking for nonacademic distinction among those seeking admission.
