"It's patently obvious," Editorial, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, April 4.

An editorial arguing that UW-Madison pioneered stem-cell research, and that patents for its technology should be upheld; the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation said it would appeal the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's recent rejection of these patents.

"Thumbs up to UW-Rock County, Rotary Gardens, Big Rock plaque," Editorial, Janesville Gazette, April 3.

UW-Rock County receives a "thumbs up" from the Janesville Gazette's editorial board for breaking ground on two campus building expansions, the funding for which demonstrates a commitment to the college by the surrounding community.

"As student pranks go, this was front page news," St. Paul Pioneer Press, April 4.

A UW-River Falls student stole and burned a number of the campus's Student Voice newspapers in an effort to keep students from reading a less-than-flattering blotter item about him; the student was caught, and his antics are now front-page fodder in the Student Voice.

"State ready for energy research lab," Column, Stevens Point Journal, April 4.

The Madison area, with its access to resources from nearby UW-Madison and other campuses around the UW System, would make an ideal venue for a federal energy research laboratory.
