An alumna columnist quotes UW System President Kevin Reilly in emphasizing the importance of the university's outreach and engagement with all of Wisconsin.

"Schools weigh merits of disclosing pay online," National Journal's Technology Daily, March 16.

Colleges and universities outside Wisconsin share the UW System's concerns that posting employee salary information online will enable competing institutions to hire star faculty away; the UW System's salary information is still available to the public upon request.

An editorial lauding UW-Stevens Point's contributions to the community, including the talents of the UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team, as well as other campus activities.

"UW-River Falls going all green by 2012," River Falls Journal, March 16.

UW-River Falls has signed an agreement with regional power providers that will allow the campus to use all renewable energy sources.

"UW case shows learning is often tough, unpretty," Column, Capital Times, March 17.

UW-Madison should have sought the true account of reports that a law professor made some controversial remarks rather than issue apologies for things that may not have been said.

"UWO professor goes full circle from student to jazz mentor," Oshkosh Northwestern, March 18.

One UW-Oshkosh professor has strengthened the reputation of the campus's jazz music program by bringing in world-renowned artists and bringing jazz to the surrounding community.

A UW-River Falls professor is among a group of scientists studying the far reaches of outer space through a project at the South Pole.

"UWO student joins teacher working for U.S. Mint," Oshkosh Northwestern, March 18.

A UW-Oshkosh student is among four students nationwide selected for the U.S. Mint's Artistic Infusion Program where he will intern as a sculptor/engraver at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia.

"Goodbye, Inner Loop Road," Editorial, Kenosha News, March 16.

UW-Parkside's campus master plan includes turning one of the campus's more well-known streets into a pedestrian walkway. Full story not available online.

UW campuses continue to look for ways to curb the amount of alcohol abuse by students.

"Better days ahead for beach houses?" Editorial, Kenosha News, March 14.

This editorial hopes investment in some of Kenosha's beach houses, including a UW-Parkside education center, will attract more people to the lakeside park, where they can learn about Lake Michigan and its environment. Full story not available online.
