Speaking to the Hudson Rotary Clubs, UW System President Kevin Reilly said the 70-percent rate of high school graduates who don't go on to higher education constitutes a state and national crisis.

"UW-Madison deals with fallout over gay marriage amendment," Associated Press, Nov. 16.

UW-Madison Chancellor John Wiley re-asserted the university's opposition to the recently passed marriage amendment in Wisconsin; while some faculty and staff said they will remain in Wisconsin in the hopes of winning domestic partner benefits, others said the passage of the marriage amendment may cause them to seek other places of employment.
