UW-Madison students voted in favor of both the Student Union Initiative, which will use student fees to renovate Memorial Union and rebuild Union South, as well as the Living Wage initiative, which will adjust wages for campus workers.

"Lawmakers say tuition cap could hurt UW System," Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, Oct. 24.

At a listening session regarding the cost of higher education, UW-Eau Claire students and faculty told two state representatives a so-called tuition cap would harm the UW System; State Rep. Robin Kreibich, one of the representatives in attendance, has continued to support such a cap.

"UW-River Falls wants to lead in renewable energy," Wisconsin Radio Network, Oct. 23.

UW-River Falls Chancellor Don Betz said he wants the campus to serve as an "energy lab" for the rest of the state by significantly reducing energy consumption over the next five years; Betz added the state should chip in financially to ensure success in the endeavor.
