UW-Milwaukee officials say a student government shut-down stemmed from the campus's request for and subsequent denial of the organization's financial records.

BusinessWeek magazine recently ranked UW-Madison's MBA program No. 4 in the nation in terms of fastest return on investment for students, who only need an average of 4.41 years to "break even."

Members of the UW-Madison Department of Math wrote a letter to the UW System Board of Regents supporting the board's recent resolution which formally opposes an upcoming Wisconsin ballot initiative.

The UW System released its list of five finalists for UW-La Crosse Chancellor; this piece gives detailed profiles of each one.

UW-Stevens Point alumni come from far and wide for the campus's homecoming festivities, with many saying they continue to enjoy the communal atmosphere that exists at the comparatively smaller campus.

"Koker wins UW Regents award for teaching," Oshkosh Northwestern, Oct. 21.

UW-Oshkosh Professor John Koker, who also serves as the campus's interim College of Letters and Sciences' dean, said he conducts his classes in such a way where students are confident in suggesting answers; Koker will receive the Board of Regents' Teaching Excellence Award.

"UW-Parkside students, alumni recapture playground spirit with dodgeball tournament," Racine Journal Times, Oct. 22.

The rising popularity of dodgeball among UW-Parkside's students resulted in a 14-team tournament at the campus's Sports and Activity Center.

"Pagans unite in new club," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Oct. 23.

UW-Waukesha officials said a new club at the college will provide an opportunity for students to explore new ideas.

UW-River Falls Chancellor Don Betz writes to promote the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin, among other initiatives being undertaken in the St. Croix Valley to strengthen the region's economy.
