UW System President Kevin P. Reilly pledged to ensure a sound system of employee benefits, including a proper sick-leave reporting policy.

A request for student funds by the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship remains on hold following a student government vote last week to postpone a decision on the group's application.

A column criticizing what the author calls UW-Madison's overreaction to behavior by the UW band.

UW-Waukesha professor Dean Kowalski's book will use the X-Files television show to help make sense of how students can learn about philosophy.

"UWO professor heads way down south - to Antarctica," Oshkosh Northwestern, Oct. 14.

UW-Oshkosh geology professor Timothy Paulson will join 70 other scientists to examine never-before-seen rocks as part of the Antarctic Geological Drilling program.

State

"Partnerships that pay off," Editorial, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Oct. 15.

An editorial commending the state's $1 million investment in Professor Jamie Thomson's Stem Cell Products, Inc.; the editorial says the move will provide an economic boost to Wisconsin.
