UW-Marinette is helping area companies plan projects with fewer wasteful steps through a course in "lean management."
State
"Jessica Doyle talks about the Wisconsin Covenant," Oshkosh Northwestern, Sept. 26.
Eighth graders who heard Wisconsin's First Lady Jessica Doyle speak about the Wisconsin Covenant, a program under which students who maintain a good GPA while taking challenging courses and exhibiting good citizenship will be admitted into Wisconsin college or university, said they thought the agreement would help them plan their futures.
National
"Secretary of Education will propose more U.S. aid for students and a database to track their progress in college," Chronicle of Higher Education, Sept. 26.
A plan to be released following a national report would implement a unit record system to track college students, and would also call for more accountability by colleges and universities.
