An editorial indicates that due to the smaller size of the UW-Stevens Point campus, a privately funded, religion-centered residence hall like that being planned at UW-Madison would probably not work at UWSP.
"Kauffman entrepreneurship effort seeks UW-Madison," Business Journal of Milwaukee, June 28.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has invited UW-Madison to compete for a portion of $35 million in grant money for the establishment of non-business school entrepreneurship courses; the foundation is dedicated to the expansion of such courses in liberal arts and engineering fields.

State officials lauded the insurance system that covers Wisconsin's government employees, saying it reduced cost increases to about half of most public and private sector employees' rate increases over the past two years.

California higher education officials stressed the importance of a sound financial aid program so students from lower-income families are not priced out of a college education as costs continue to rise.
