John and Tashia Morgridge, who made a $50 million donation to UW-Madison to help fund the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, feel strongly that the campus has the ability to reach across disciplines to create the world's latest innovations.

Outgoing UW-La Crosse Chancellor Doug Hastad said he was not leaving UW-La Crosse because he was unhappy, although he did note his frustration about working in a political environment that is "less than supportive" of public higher education as he prepares to lead a private Wisconsin institution, Carroll College in Waukesha County.

UW-Waukesha County will partner with UW-Oshkosh to offer a bachelor's degree in liberal studies, the fifth degree in an expanding list of four-year degree offerings at the normally freshman-sophomore institution.

One vendor who was denied a state building contract is claiming former state Department of Administration officials had a hand in awarding the contract to a company that had ties to the Doyle administration.

UW-Madison campus health officials are praising a revised sexual assault law that includes alcohol in a list of substances that can impair one's ability to provide consent.

UW-Madison faculty and staff are mourning the death of Denice Denton, a former UW-Madison professor of electrical and computer engineering and chancellor of University of California-Santa Cruz.
