UW-Madison Chancellor John Wiley and UW Board of Regents President David Walsh are listening to the public and are setting a positive example of constructive dialogue.

UW-Green Bay Chancellor Bruce Shepard supports the tuition waiver for veterans at UW campuses, but believes that funding costs should not be passed on to other students.

Control of the Ashland Agricultural Research Station will be transferred from UW-Madison to local counties.

A state task force charged with improving higher education in the Milwaukee suburbs has recommended building new facilities at UW-Waukesha, but local government and business leaders are not ready to pay for the expansion.
"Center to aid Latinos-Alzheimer's study," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, June 12.
Construction has begun on the new Latino Geriatric Center in Milwaukee, a collaboration of the Medical College of Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, and the Alzheimer's Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.

State procurement official Georgia Thompson was convicted Monday of manipulating the bidding for state travel contracts.
