"Flu institute will serve as research hub, Doyle says," Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, March 16.

In addition to keeping a world-renowned influenza researcher at UW-Madison, a new institute to study the virus at the University Research Park will make Wisconsin a national center for genetic research.

UW-Stevens Point will host a session to gather citizen input regarding the campus Master Plan, which will guide the future of the campus landscape.

An article urging caution for the Board of Regents and state Legislature when the groups criticize the actions of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.

UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells said he is excited about a new Equity Scorecard program, adding he hoped it would promote inclusiveness and help the campus find ways to close student achievement gaps.

State

UW-Milwaukee officials are even more motivated to expand the campus's research capabilities after findings that the region is falling behind other major metropolitan areas in terms of federal economic development dollars.

National

A new website provides information about, among other categories, the percentage of students on campuses who qualify for Pell Grants or the amount of student debt.

To promote the value of higher education without appearing "stodgy," a new ad campaign will show the importance of a post-secondary degree in humorous and entertaining ways.
