UW System officials said the university is likely to make up for a proposed decrease in nonresident tuition by attracting more out-of-state students, who subsidize the cost of education for Wisconsin students at UW campuses.

UW-Stout Chancellor Charles Sorensen was honored by the Greater Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce, which said the chancellor has done much to promote economic development through his campus's partnerships with the private sector.
