"Stem cells could help repair heart," Capital Times, Dec. 20.

UW-Madison researchers make progress in using embryonic stem cells that could ultimately be used to repair heart tissue damaged during a heart attack.

"Schmitt set to lead UW-Waukesha," Waukesha Freeman, Dec. 19.

Patrick Schmitt, who will take over as dean of UW-Waukesha in 2006, said he plans to work with students, faculty and the Waukesha community to expand the educational opportunities available to them.

According to a recently released NCAA report, UW-Green Bay graduated 90 percent of its student-athletes from 1995-98, topping the NCAA average of 76 percent.

The U.S. Senate voted today to cut $13 billion from college loan funding, the largest reduction in its history.
