Per a proposed agreement with UW-Milwaukee and the City of Milwaukee, the UW Medical School would provide nearly $1 million more each year for public-health initiatives in the state's largest city; Board of Regents to consider proposal this week.

The UW System Board of Regents will consider reforms to the practice of granting so-called "backup positions" to limited-term employees.

UW-Oshkosh is participating in the National Student Exchange program, which provides students the opportunity to attend a U.S. university outside of Wisconsin.

"Cornell's Jahn named UW ag dean," Capital Times, Nov. 8.

UW-Madison names Cornell University's Molly Jahn as dean of its College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. She will begin as dean on August 1, 2006.

"Vice chancellor of student affairs to leave after 29 years," UWM Post, Nov. 9.

UW-Milwaukee Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Mary Roggeman left her post Friday after 29 years of service.

"Survey finds high rate of binge drinking among UWGB students," Green Bay Press-Gazette, Nov. 9.

Dean notes UW-Green Bay student behaviors are similar to others in Wisconsin; outlines campus' proactive education efforts.

The Spanish Consulate in Chicago recently stated that it will no longer accept appointments for student visas this semester, throwing UW-Madison students' plans to study abroad into question.
