State
"Platteville group takes its case to the Capitol," Platteville Journal, Oct. 26.
Officials and business leaders from Platteville, including some from UW-Platteville, testified before the state Senate Committee on Higher Education and Tourism about a state procurement plan which would limit vendors from which state agencies can buy consumable supplies. The group contended that the previous system of allowing the university to purchase goods locally saves the state more money, which they said is important due to their limited budget.
