The proposed revisions will be submitted to the Board of Regents and the state Legislature for rulemaking.
The goals of this process are to update, clarify, and improve the organization of Chapters UWS 17 and 18, Wis. Admin. Code.
- Chapter UWS 17: Student Nonacademic Disciplinary Procedures describes standards and procedures for addressing students' nonacademic misconduct.
- Chapter UWS 18: Conduct on University Lands pertains to students and non-students alike and regulates various types of conduct on university land, such as operating motor vehicles, parking, riding bicycles, and selling goods and services.
Public Comment
The committee invited students, university staff, and the public to offer specific comments on the committee's recommended revisions of Chapters 17 and 18 of the UW System’s administrative rules. This comment period was from February 28 through March 11, 2008. The committee is carefully considering the feedback it has received as it prepares the draft rules for the Board of Regents' review.
